Portable generators are a welcome addition to many activities at home, at work, and away. In an emergency, portable generators can provide critical backup power. They make camping and tailgating more comfortable. And contractors appreciate the flexibility portable power brings to the jobsite.

A portable generator needs to be ready for use at all times. Generac added maintenance reminders right on the hour meter, and the convenient fuel gauge provides at-a-glance fuel monitoring. Many portable models have controls located in inconvenient locations, making it difficult to access them quickly, especially in the dark. We gave control placement careful consideration, with comprehensive control sets conveniently located for easy access. *Not for Sale in California*

Questions and answers

Answered by our team in Wilmington. Can’t find yours? Ask below.

Can I connect this generator to my house?
Only through a transfer switch or an interlock kit installed by a licensed electrician. Never plug a generator into a wall outlet: it can back-feed the utility line and endanger line workers. Connecting safely.
What can it run at the same time?
Use the What it can run planner above: tick your appliances and it checks both the running load and the start-up surge against this generator.
Does it ship with oil?
It depends on the manufacturer. If oil is included it is listed under What’s in the box; otherwise use the grade given in the owner’s manual before the first start.
Can I use it in the rain?
Not uncovered. Run it on a dry surface under an open, canopy-like cover, at least 20 feet from doors, windows and vents, and never in a garage.
Can it be shipped to California?
Some generators are not certified for sale in California (not CARB compliant). If the description says this model is not for sale in California, we cannot ship it to a California address.
How will it be delivered?
Free, by UPS or FedEx Ground to your door, usually within 2–5 business days after it ships. Tracking is emailed as soon as it ships.
What if it arrives damaged?
Photograph it and email us within 48 hours of delivery. We replace or refund damaged items at no cost to you.
