The Standard Diesel (SD) series of generators are designed for tough commercial applications that do not require an enclosure. The Onan SD20 is the latest edition to the series expanding the power range up to 20kW. Tight chassis applications such as mobile command centers, mobile medical vehicles, and emergency response fleets will appreciate the flexibility of multiple interface connection points and its compact size. The SD20 is the culmination of over 100 years of Cummins power generation experience.

Can I connect this generator to my house?
Only through a transfer switch or an interlock kit installed by a licensed electrician. Never plug a generator into a wall outlet: it can back-feed the utility line and endanger line workers. Connecting safely.
What can it run at the same time?
Use the What it can run planner above: tick your appliances and it checks both the running load and the start-up surge against this generator.
Does it ship with oil?
It depends on the manufacturer. If oil is included it is listed under What’s in the box; otherwise use the grade given in the owner’s manual before the first start.
Can I use it in the rain?
Not uncovered. Run it on a dry surface under an open, canopy-like cover, at least 20 feet from doors, windows and vents, and never in a garage.
How will it be delivered?
Free, by UPS or FedEx Ground to your door, usually within 2–5 business days after it ships. Tracking is emailed as soon as it ships.
What if it arrives damaged?
Photograph it and email us within 48 hours of delivery. We replace or refund damaged items at no cost to you.
